Question:
When did the faith / work movement take hold?
Answer:
You know, it’s interesting to look at the roots of faith-work movement.
In one way, they go right back to the New Testament— Jesus was a
carpenter; Paul was a tent-maker— and in more modern times, this
movement has gained momentum, probably from the middle of the
1990s.
Since that time, it’s just reached global proportions, where there are
hundreds and hundreds of companies that are intentionally trying to
bring faith and work together.
I believe that there is a tremendous future for this movement, because
people want to have meaning. They want to have a sense of value and
accomplishment in their work. So, why would they want to leave their
faith at the doorstep when the come in to work on Monday morning?
That will be the catalyst, as it spreads, to bring this movement to its
full fruition.
