What can I do to quickly raise morale in my workplace? 
 
Answer: 
 
There are times in all of our workplaces where it gets really heavy, 
really stressful. Maybe it’s a time before the holidays. Maybe it’s tax 
time, if you’re a financial institution. I want you to think about some 
ways to really quickly raise morale. 
 
One of the questions I always ask the companies I work with is: “Does 
every single employee in your organization have a business card?” and 
most of the time they say, “No.” 
 
One of the fastest ways that you can raise morale in your workplace is 
to give every single employee a business card. You can make them on 
the computer; it doesn’t even have to cost any money. 
 
In our world today a business card says “I’m important.” I don’t care if 
they only give them to their mothers. That will raise morale so quickly 
and will make them feel valued and cared for in your organization.  
 
Another way is to do something fun for them, to do something that will 
give them something to talk about, to laugh about. Have you ever as 
managers served them breakfast? Or get an ice cream cart on a hot 
afternoon; take an ice cream treat to everybody. 
 
Just little things that will say to them you care enough and you value 
them enough that you’re reaching out to make a difference.  
 
 
 
Having more fun in the workplace is another way that quickly raises 
morale. Let them get a dunk tank, let them throw balls and dunk you 
in the water. Some simple things other than that you can do will really 
help people to laugh, and to have a good time, and to poke a little bit 
of fun at you. 
 
I think you should get a dartboard and put your picture on it, and put 
it in the break room and let them throw darts at you if they’re having a 
rough time during a particular time at work.  
 
So again, I want to challenge you to get out of the box, get your 
creative juices going. Some quick, fun things that you can do right 
away that will make a difference for folks.
