Does the size of a man's penis make any difference for being a great 
lover? 
 
Answer: 
 
Does the size of a man’s penis make a difference in what kind of lover 
he is? I just have to laugh about this. I get this question so much, and 
it really doesn’t make a difference. But guys are so protective. 
 
I remember one time I was sitting in a lecture, and they were talking 
about how the woman’s brain works better, the left brain and the right 
brain, but they said that the man’s brain is bigger. And I thought, 
“Yeah! Yeah! Our brain is bigger. Who cares about whether it works 
better?” 
 
I fear that sometimes we get into that when we get into the whole size 
of the penis. Guys, the truth is that it’s only the outer third of the 
woman’s vagina that has the greater sensitivity, and so really size 
doesn’t matter. What am I talking about? You know, two or three 
inches is big enough? 
 
And so, guys, let that myth go that the size of the penis really makes a 
difference.  
 
I think some of it, unfortunately, comes even from the pornography 
industry, and that somehow deep thrusting and size really makes a 
difference to the woman. But I’ll be honest with you. I have never, in 
thirty years of doing sex therapy, had a wife say to me, “Oh, I just 
wish my husband’s penis was bigger.”
